Chris Boland is a lifelong paddler and an American Canoe Association Certified Level 3 Kayak Instructor. He is also a non-practicing Registered Nurse and Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.
He is married to Pali, owner of Tycoon Art Gallery at The Esplanade on Marco Island.
They have three kids: Vanessa, Christopher and Sean.
Chris served for five years in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate Second Class.

I claim to be a Reformed Redneck, but my wife frequently reminds me of how incomplete the reformation is. Two sons. Bachelors and Masters from University of Florida. Spent 17 years in Wyoming. Taught elementary students for 11 years and held a variety of school administrative positions for 25 years before retirement.
I have always loved the outdoors whether hiking, camping, or kayaking. Got hooked on kayaking when I bought an old wood frame 2 man 19 ft Folbot kayak in 1984. Spent 4 days floating the Green River in Wyoming and been on the water ever since. Have spent most of every summer since '72 in the Wind River Range of Wyoming, backpacking, camping, and flyfishing.

Started kayak fishing in 2002. Started Saltwater Fly Fishing regularly in 2003. Joined Backcountry FlyFishers in 2003. Learned basics from Backcountry FlyFishers Casting Programs and attending monthly meetings featuring local guides(legends). Also fished on many outings in SW Florida with fellow members to include "Ranger Bob" Martin. Passionate fly tier and kayak angler. Currently serving as the Outings Chairman for the Backcountry FlyFishers.
